	On the Laser 28, you will find the number on the transom (outside), just below the bumper, on starboard. It will look like: ZIOXO 229 0686 Manufacturer ID: ZIOXO Hull number: 229 Date of Certification: 0686 http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.html

	Ok disregard the last post. I have been able to convince the USCG that I in fact own number 236 and not 229 as they had believed. Long story and not worth recounting here. Thanks all for the help.
