You can now upload images for use in forum posts.

Images can be managed within http://laser28.org/forum/file_manager.asp" rel="nofollow - File Manager , located in the http://laser28.org/forum/member_control_panel.asp" rel="nofollow - Member Control Panel . Links to these sections are in the top left of the page, or click the previous hyperlinks to go directly.

From File Manager you can upload, delete and preview images. You will need to upload images before they can be used in posts. Users have 100 MB of space.

Be sure to click the  button or click the  button on the Quick Reply editor tool bar to go to the full editor. You will not have the option to use images in your post if you use the Quick Reply editor at the bottom of the page.

Once in the full editor, click the  icon, a new window will open where you can include an image from your File Manager, or you can put in the URL of your image from almost anywhere on the web. Be sure http:// is not in the URL twice. You can also preview the image from there. If you have not yet uploaded your image, you can click the File Manager text link for uploads, a new tab or window will open allowing you to upload the image, once done you may close this tab or window. When you return to the Image Properties window you must refresh or reload the page to see the images you just uploaded.

You can also post PDF files, click the icon, a new window will open where you can include a PDF file from your File Manager, or you can put in the URL of the PDF file from almost anywhere on the web. Be sure http:// is not in the URL twice. You can also preview the file from there. If you have not yet uploaded your file, you can click the File Manager text link for uploads, a new tab or window will open allowing you to upload the file, once done you may close this tab or window. When you return to the File Properties window you must refresh or reload the page to see the file you just uploaded.

For mobile users, this has been tested with an iPhone and iPad, it works as expected with one exception. Depending on your device, the image upload icon may be visible, clicking it will direct you to an upload page that will open in a new tab or window. As instructed on the mobile upload page, copy the URL of the file once uploaded, close the tab and return to the editor where you can click either the icon or the icon and then a window will open to paste in the URL of your just uploaded file.

Note: Members in the Rookie, Crew, Skipper and Commodore groups can use this feature. If you're in the Greenhorn member category, you do not yet sufficient points to have access to File Manager and image posting.
