Has anyone tried putting a masthead kite on the boat for PHRF racing? I understand the loading issues on the mast but was just curious if anyone has tried it and what the results were......

I have raised the hoist 2.5 ft and added close to a foot to the pole.

We do not fly of the raised hoist in anything more than 12 apparent.

Results for PHRF are mixed. The boat is very quick in the light stuff and we can sail the rating hit of 12 seconds in below 8 knots of wind. Moderate air is tough, however on W/L's we can generally sail lower at the same pace as our competition ( while being careful not to rip the top off the rig). In heavy we go down to the "normal hoist" but still have a longer pole.
