I have an old drawing that shows a 1"x3" aluminum bar in front of the mast to hold the fiberglass ring apart to keep shrouds tight. The space i have in front go the mast is between 3/4" and 7/8". I was thinking of using a piece of oak wood finished 3/4" and on the other side of the forward bulkhead use the 1"x3" aluminum bar and bolt all together. I would use blocks of wood between the bars and the fiberglass rings. Would that work?
Thank you
