Does anyone know if there are parts available for the original Laser 28 clutch. Manufacturer? Or do we just replace when they break...busted the handle of one tonight.

I actually replaced all 4 of the double clutches over the past 2 winters and have the old ones at the house, complete with handles. Give me a holler! - bill

If you have the spinlock clutches then you can still buy parts as well as replacement bolt on clutches using the same holes.

I really doubt they are Spinlock. At a glance I could not find the manufacturers name on the clutch. They look really old....they slip. It doesn't look like Spinlock design that I have seen. I suspect Bill has what I need to fix it.
Thanks,
Ron

A few of the very early boats used Easylock rope clutches with red and green handles.
Some parts are available here http://www.rigrite.com/Hardware/Rope_Clutches/Easylock_Handles.html

Thanks Bill L. Upon researching antique spinlock parts, I find that I probably do have spinlock clutches. I'm just not experienced (read old) enough to recognize past designs. I think if Bill R. has a handle laying around in his garage, I'll be good. Thanks again,
Ron

Mark at Sailing Services, (305) 758-1074, will know exactly what part you want. I've purchased several from him over the years. He often sails on my boat so he knows L28's pretty well.
