I see alot of reefed mains. How windy was it?

Saturday morning was sustained winds at 25+ knots with lots of puffs over 30 knots for the first 2 races. The wind gradually dropped over the rest of the day as we used all the sails in the inventory finishing with full mains and genoa in about 10 knots of wind.

Sunday saw almost all the boats stay double reefed with working jibs for all 4 races, I think there was only one exception. Winds were mostly in the 18 to 25 knot range with puffs in the high 20s. The wind had some good fetch to it, felt stronger than wind indicator showed.

I wonder if some of those who sailed could share their stories with the rest of us (especially those of us who do not have another Laser nearby!).  I am curious how many crewed with 5 or 6, what is the role breakdown, where does everyone sit (i realize with winds 24+ high side and back but on "normal" days!).

Maybe we could have a little winners tell-all discussion so we far away can learn from the fleets!  (I am getting tired of being beaten by this Hunter 34 scratch!)  :)bill
