Thanks, I think I found the problem in the form of a badly deteriorated 'O' ring laying in the engine bilge. Looks like it fell off the check valve insert when I removed it.
I probably need some kind of custom 'O' ring and I'll call to find out. In the mean time I think I can seal it w/ some teflon tape on the threads. thanks again, john

Hello John,

I would suggest you call North Jersey Marine Enterprises, Inc. at 215 Trimble Ave, Clifton, New Jersey. Contact Bob Bain Tel: 973-546-6377.  They supply Bukh parts and have been very helpful to me in the past.  Note there is a North Jersey Marine on the web which is not the same place.

Bill

i was having trouble bleeding the air out of the fuel line. i disconnected the hardline from the injector at one end and the checkvalve(?)assembly at the other end. there was no fuel coming out of the checkvalve(?) so i disassembled the checkvalve. after reassembly the problem was cleard and i was able to finish bleeding and get the engine going fine.
problem is that now i have a fuel leak in the area of the check valve. i've taken it apart and put it back together but i can't resolve the leak.
i'm thinking that i lost a washer or put the check valve together wrong or something but the shop manual does not contain a schematic.
can anyone help with more details? thx, john
