Engine Starting Rough

   My engine has recently been starting rough?  
Symptoms:
 - turns over 2 or 3 time more than typical before catching
 - significant black exhaust after it catches

Does the DV8 come with glow plugs as the symptoms suggest the diesel is slow to "ignite".  I could not find any reference in the manual.

	Hi Geoff, No glow plug. Some bad fuel comes to mind. Maybe you're getting to the bottom of the tank or recently added some bad fuel. I use so little, it's a challenge to keep fresh fuel in the tank. I start with batteries 1+2 for max revs. Does the exhaust clear up? I hope it's not an injector problem. And is the air intake clear/clean. john
