Need a new Tuff Luff extrusion. What should I know before I strip the old one and place an order on a new one?

The carbo-foil from harken is more durable than the others but you would have to buy the whole system whereas for tuff-luff you only need an extrusion. Installation and removal is best done with the rig up and little backstay tension.
