Bill's factory diagrams tell the whole story. I would not shy away from the system to use slings. At our club, we are only allowed to use single point lift systems and mine works perfect. The only difference in my system is that I have found the exact length of the two rear retaining lines and spliced loops in both ends such that one loop goes over the lifting nylon lifting strap, and the retaining lines then take two turns around the upper winch before placing the larger loop on the other end directly over the lower winches. The lifting sling finds center of the inspection port every time and I launch the boat alone with no one tending the winches, etc. No drama at all and safest of all lifting methods. I use a standard 8' nylon lifting strap as the primary that one can purchase off-the-shelft, and 5/16" amsteel for the two retaining straps.

Thanks for posting this Bill.  I think I'll stick to our travel lift for the time being!

For those interested, I've assembled the documents into a single pdf file with can be downloaded here

These are copies of original documents from the factory. Use care and caution when using this system.  Errors made when using this system can lead to fatal results.
