water in the hull?

Today I pulled 2 thru hull fittings, one in
front of the keel (starboard side) and one aft of the keel (port side). The Kevlar
hull in front the keel looked good, solid and dry. Aft was a different story,
the previous owner put a dept transducer here, and did not do an adequate job
sealing. Although dry, the material between the inside and outside skins was
flakey / crumbly and there was a bluish residue. No idea about the bluish
residue, but it doesn't look good.

So my plan is to dig out as much as possible,
perhaps cutting the hole larger. Then use west epoxy and Kevlar matting to
repair the hole. the dept tranducer was located about 4" from the water intake for the engine, I may end of pulling that to be sure the problem did not go that far.

Anyone
had similar experience and how did you go about repairing the problem.

	OK - So I took another look at the hole in the hull and realize this may actually be the "foam core" I am looking at. Again ervery thing looks dry, so maybe I had a premature freakout. But could someone verify this for me? Thanks.

	Aft of the keel and port side is a foam cored area.... digging out foam and filling with epoxy putty while its open is prudent, then re-install thru hull.
