Which membrane are you referring to. If the rubber one on the bottom of the hull, which really isn't a membrane, but only sort of a cover to add a fairer bottom around the opening in the bottom of the hull where the sail drive protrude, then I certainly have that pattern.

The only other sort of membrane I know if is the sticky gasket that goes between the saildrive and the bottom of the engine. Actually, I think I have one of those, and so probably can make a pattern out of that as well. That part of the unit, however, is so far out of the water that one can make that out of just about anything and tack it on with a bit of silicone or something. It comes no where near the water unless the boat is very far down on it's lines, such as like sinking!

I have heard that this is adhered with the use of marine silicon, such as is available from West Marine. As I only race my boat under phrf (we have no one-design fleet in Vancouver, I have removed this rubber gasket completely and instead have done some modifications so that I use a fibre glass plate to fill the hole which is totally flush with my hull bottom. I do have one of these gaskets, however, and can make the pattern for you, and I know that they use silicon to glue it on. If one uses something like 3M 5200, then one will never get it off without destroying it, however one might get it off with a heat gun or something if 5200 was used. The whole arrangement with the rubber thing looks really Mickey Mouse to me, so I don't use it.

Someone recommended to me 3m Super Weatherstrip Adhesive. I found a tube of this at a local automotive store and it's held up well.
