I am just about ready to drop kick the deck mounting.  My plan is to remove the 4 post plug and insert a 90 degree plastic "elbow" thru the deck with the exit aimed aft towards the vang.  Then I am going to splice the line from the mast to a 4 post connctor, like a trailer would use (horizontal) and lead the wire away from the front of the mast (where the hatch bangs into anyway) and cable tie it to the rear of the mast, low.  I plan to lead the other side of the connector thru the "elbow" and splice inside.  This way when the foredeck person steps on the "elbow" it will not be a big deal and with the 2 connectors above deck I can still drop the mast without a lot of fuss of wires.  That is my current plan!  If anyone has a better plan let me know!  :)bill
