   Ok, 
The story is that my original depth gauge started to malfunction. I sent it to Signet and they bench tested it = ok. It still didn't work well so I bought another SL172 device+instrument. That didn't work well either. 
I now have 2 pingers and 2 displays which have been replaced by Raymarine gear. If you would like them, text or call me. Eight four five, five four six, nine eight eight zero.
